Another similarity that people may not have noticed is that they both don't mind the cold. In Sarahs book, she lived in a cave in the middle of winter. In Alex's book, He could walk around in the cold with no jacket or sweatshirt on as if it didn't bother him one bit. Knowing that about them, they are both probably tough, which is perfect for their character.

The main conflict in Sarah Bishop
In my book, the main conflict is Sarah's parents dying. If they didn't die, then she wouldn't of had to go and live in the cave in the beginning of winter, and on. She could of lived on in her house alone, but she chose not to, because the town thought she burned down her brothers prison on purpose.
Sarah wasn't even responsible for the fire, she had no idea how it happened. She was still blamed, so she went to live in the cave. One other small conflict is the war that was going on at the time. All of her family had died, so she didn't have anyone else to live with, that’s why she went to live in the cave.
In the end, the conflict was solved. Sarah chose a different path, and after the war was over, she decided to still live in the cave. She didn’t want to go back to town. Sarah wanted to live in her cave, fend for herself, and be alone. The conflict was solved, but in her own way.

Love life.
Dan was planning to drop out of college. He knew exactly why, but he didn't tell anyone. He just said he thought he wasn't smart enough. The real reason that he was dropping out was because his girlfriend, Serena, and him had broken up. They were in the same college, and he thought he could get over her by dating other girls. He took that too far, and started dating multiple girls at a time.
Yes, the girls did find out, but that didn't stop Dan. He's a nobody, or at least, he was. Inside, he knew that he just couldn't get over the thought of Serena dating other people. Serena stayed loyal, and even though her and Dan were broken up, she still didn't date anyone. Serena finally found out that he was dating other people, and so he asked to go on a date to a bar with them. That, went way wrong. Things happened that no one would of ever imagined.
Serena's friends thought it would be "Funny" to see Dan's date lose her hair. So they mixed up a drink, and splashed it in her hair. In no time at all, her hair was falling out. Dan thought that Serena was the one that did it and told her to stay away from him. Serena was broken, but Dan would never know that.
Now, here's Dan. At the verge of breaking. Standing on the edge of the cliff that him and Serena met at. Dan was not broken, but only beginning to break. He couldn't take the pain anymore. He stood at the edge of the cliff, waiting. For maybe a phone call, or maybe a text, to tell him that she still cared. Does she still care? What is she doing right now? Is she still single? He would never know the truth. Never.
Here's Serena. Shes sitting at the edge of her bed, with her shoe box. Going threw all the memories that her and Dan had together. She was so sad. She was broken. She dropped the box, and lie down at the edge of her bed, waiting. For him to call. To know he still cared. To fell loved again. Does he still care? What is he doing right now? Is he still single? She would never know the truth. Never.
My dad is taking me somewhere today. I don't know where. He said it was important. Here we are, riding in the car, on a gravel road, towards what seems to be the end of the road. The car stops. My dad tells me to wait here. There are cops, and they're looking down the cliff. There's a helicopter over head. After my dad talks for about an hour, he comes back.
"Dan's dead, Jenny." My dad says to me.
Waiting, at my door for the truth of what happened to my sister. The paramedics walk out with an outstretched body bag. I over hear my mom and the doctors talking. I hear the words "Gun" "Box" and "Gone". Was she gone? is my sister really dead? I walk up to her room. Caution tape and cops are swarming threw my house. I cross the tape, and into her room. Blood. That's all I see. It's splattered on the wall above her bed, and a big spot on her bed.
"Serena's gone, Eric." I hear my mom say.
After all of this was over. I decided to write this story. My names Jenny, by the way, Jenny Humphrey. Dan's little sister. I'm not that young though, I work for a Fashion designer. I'm with a friend right now, Serena's younger brother. His names Eric Vanderwitz. Hes probably one of my best friends right now.. getting over the loss of our older siblings together is easier than doing it alone.

The Junkyard
"Are you crazy? It's four o'clock in the morning!" I shouted. Miranda was outside my window, throwing rocks again. We were those type of girls who never listened to our parents. We snuck out all the time. In fact, we did it so much, they started to not care anymore. That was okay with us.
"Brandi, Get down here!" Miranda shot the ladder upward, clinging it to my window. I climbed down the two story ladder to the dark driveway below.
"What do you want at this hour? Why couldn't you have woken me up at midnight!" I loudly whispered, shocking Miranda.
"Sorry.. I just thought we could go over to the junk yard tonight. I heard there's gonna be a fight."
"Alright.. I'll go, But only because I love to watch people fight.
Miranda and I walked to the junkyard, unaware of what was waiting for us. When Miranda and I got to the junkyard, there was no one there.
"Hey.. wheres the fight?" Miranda said, Puzzled.
"I don't know. Lets go look around a bit, maybe they're in a different section of the yard?"
"Yeah, but wouldn't we hear them?" Just then.. *BANG* A gun shot went off.
"MIRANDA, LOOK OUT!" I shouted, shocked. Miranda moved just in time for the bullet just to skim her arm. Maybe leaving in the middle of the night wasn't such a good idea anymore. As Brandi and Miranda were sitting on the ground from shock, a storm cloud moved in.
"Who shot that?" Asked Brandi. As far as they could tell, they were alone in the junkyard. Brandi and Miranda would of seen someone dashing back and forth from the garbage piles, because they weren't this tall at this time of year. The state had just cleared it out, only to have it pile back up. Just then, another bullet shot out. This time, at Brandi.
"BRANDI!" but she appeared to be dead before she hit the ground. Miranda was scared, but she wouldn't cry. She was the tough one out of them all.
"Brandi.. I swear.. I'll find out who did this to you." Miranda pulled out her cellphone, to call her other friends. She didn't call the cops. She couldn't. She decided to call their closest friends. The phone started to ring. Three rings. Four. No answer from Hannah. She decided to call her other friend. One ring. Two rings. Three rings. Four.
"Who is this." Boomed the voice in the phone.
"Its me, Miranda."
"What do you need."
"I think Brandi's dead." The phone hung up. Miranda yelled hello a couple more times, only to find out that she had lost service with all the metal and magnets around. Miranda sighed, and sat down on the cold scrap metal. It took a while, but she finally noticed that it was raining. Brandi was laying on the ground, She looked lifeless and limp. What could she do? She had no one else to turn to, especially not her parents. she could never turn to them after her father had left them. She hated her step dad, and her mom. Who could she turn to? She couldn't leave Brandi here alone. So Miranda tried to leave for help.
As Miranda was walking along the narrow paths, she didn't see the dark black scrap metal on the muddy dirt ground. Miranda tripped, and gashed open her leg. In the process she twisted it, and finally after 2 minutes of trying to get up, she realized it was broken. She couldn't leave. She couldn't get help for Brandi. She could never do anything for anyone without messing it up. [To be continued...]
