My book that I am reading is called speak. In the book speak, the main
character Melinda doesn't talk much. The main conflict with that is her
parents think shes depressed, but that's actually only a small problem. a
really big problem is that when she was at a party, she got raped and
then she called the cops because she didn't know what else to do.
someone at the party took her phone and found out the cops were coming,
and now everyone at her school hates her. because everyone hates her,
she has almost no friends and her parents and teacher feel that shes
becoming depressed.
